MyoFascial Release Training: Level 1
Jan
17
to Jan 19

MyoFascial Release Training: Level 1

Wellround Myofascial Release, Level 1.

In this 20-hour CEU training, you will learn how to take better care of fascia!

What is fascia?

Fascia is the giant-living-knitting fabric that holds us together and is the body’s largest sensory organ! Its health is kind of a big deal.

So why are you just hearing about it?

Until recently, fascia’s significance evaded Western science but we now know that myofascial release (the de-adhering, detoxifying and untangling of deep fascial tissues) effectively reduces pain, stress, recovery-time and the occurrence of injury while improving energy levels, well-being, posture, core-integration, anatomical understanding, proprioception and bolsters the immune, respiratory, muscular, skeletal, circulatory and nervous systems — to name a few!

In this hands-on course you will gain knowledge to help yourself and/or your students, friends and family:

  • Effectively Self-Massage to Reduce Pain, Tension and More!

  • Restore Range of Motion Post-Surgery or Injury

  • Prevent Injury on and off the Yoga Mat

  • Use Myofascial Release to Progress Toward Peak Yoga Poses and Athletic Endeavors

  • Feel Better in Your Body!!!

Come ready to take-in stimulating lectures that will expand your anatomical and asana understanding, participate in an extended self-massage session (with grippy pliable Wellround balls) as well as a sweaty vinyasa and Wellround MFR practice and a highly informative and nurturing hatha Wellround MFR practice (both asana classes will be taught for all levels).

*You don’t need to be a yoga teacher to participate! This training is open to all mind-body-spirit enthusiasts with at least 2 years of yoga experience and a foundational understanding of anatomy. Massage therapists, physical therapists, physical trainers, dancers, etc., join us!

Enrollment details to follow: email Anja to get on the list!

About MaryDana:

I believe that the yoga practice is a path to getting to know reality from the inside out…cleaning out the inner chaos and clutter so we can be fully present to both the joys and demands of daily life. It will keep us agile and lucid in mind and body, allowing us to integrate a myriad of other activities: saving the world, raising a family, running marathons, tearing up the dance floor, etc, into a a life that is rooted in well-being.

My classes, trainings and workshops abide by the integration of three principles: form, flow and function. My passion is to work with you to find a sustainable form that embodies the architecture and artistry of the human body in order to reach it’s greatest potential. Once we are there, we can flow too a functional, sustainable, and liberating way of existing in our bodies.

The Heart of Teaching: Theming, Facilitating + Holding Space
Jan

to Jan 20

The Heart of Teaching: Theming, Facilitating + Holding Space

Join Jamie Silverstein, founder of The Grinning Yogi, and Maria McDonald, Facilitation Coach and yoga teacher, for a weekend full of heart, story, skills and connection! In our time together we will explore the unique power and healing capacity of using our own voice to theme impactful classes. Additionally, we will cover the the fundamentals of, ‘holding space,’ for our students, each other, and ourselves so we can show up with powerful presence as leaders and contributors in our community.

Through storytelling, listening practices, tangible facilitation techniques, and a healthy dose of vulnerability, we will unpack and recharge. Empowered, we will take these sharings and move forward using our unique story as a potent teaching tool for universal connection and growth.  All levels welcome, please bring a journal, a pen and an open heart.

--

Training includes:

The Heart Whispers
Feeling ungrounded, spacey or exhausted and depleted? Friday night we will dive into a soothing Grinning practice that will leave you feeling warmer, grounded, nurtured and replenished. Then, with settled hearts the work of sharing and listening unfolds.

Is Anybody Listening? - Theming Brave
Saturday we learn to open the heart and our voices to land in the seat of the teacher. First, we’ll practice, focusing on connecting to our hearts and our guts. Then, will work together to breakdown just how to share our story in a teaching capacity. We’ll learn the 6 key elements of theming and how to find our unique voices within them.

I’ve Got You Babe - Holding the Space

Being in the seat of a teacher is a powerful responsibility. Each time you hold space for a group of humans you are presented with an opportunity to make a powerful impact in people’s individual lives as well as contribute to the health & healing of our collective community.

Facilitation techniques teach us how to hold space for transformation in meaningful ways. The facilitation tools provided in this workshop will empower teachers to catalyze positive change in students & communities by creating a nurturing environment for development and expansion. Together we will learn how to:

  • Create a, “sacred container,” so all students feel supported & engaged

  • Design curriculum that balances spirit & structure (and why that matters)

  • Build conscious connections (students to themselves, each other & the content you’re sharing)

  • Sharpen your skills in the giving & receiving of feedback

Energy Speaks - The Chakra Body
Feeling stuck, sluggish, or heavy and slow? Sunday we learn to bust through our subtle body blocks. There will be a short lecture and then a Chakra Opening Practice focusing on connecting yourself with your spirit.

Through greater understanding, we are able to take charge of our health and well being and make the lifestyle changes that reduce dis-ease in our lives! Lecture only, open to all levels, please bring a pen and journal if you wish to take notes.

Exclusive for Trainees- Coming Back to our Heart: Holding the Teacher

Spend a *bonus* afternoon with Jamie + Maria discussing how these concepts show up in a well-lived life (and the roadblocks around them!) and how to incorporate them into your teaching and daily practices.
