Our trainings attract, challenge and cultivate independent thinkers with a longing to create positive impact. We challenge our graduates to live their yoga though mindfulness, vulnerability, self-care & embodiment. In addition to creating masterful teachers, The Grinning Yogi focuses on using yogic tools as a way to explore ourselves and our world. Together, we find the power of connection and the gift of an open heart.
Each of our Grinning Graduates have the opportunity to practice their teaching skills in real classes post-graduation. Our *freshly minted* teachers teach a free weekly class on Saturdays at our studios. (Tell your friends!)
PLUS: Weekly Mentorship with a Grinning Yogi senior teacher
Word on the mat…
We were supported 110% along the way…
I feel so grateful that I was able to do my TT at TGY--I moved to Ithaca, NY shortly after graduation, and am still just reveling that I got to learn to teach what I love with a group of people who I love in a space that made me feel so welcome and comfortable. The only thing that would make the experience better was if we had ALSO invented a teleporter, so I could hop over to Seattle whenever I wanted to take classes at TGY again :)
One of the best decisions I’ve made…
When I signed up for TGY TT, I really had no idea if I wanted to teach yoga, and a year later I think I'm still trying to answer that question. But never in that time have I doubted whether doing YTT was the right choice. Teacher training gave me a great foundation of yoga knowledge and a lot more confidence in my personal practice. But more than anything, I think that spending three months challenging yourself and thinking really hard about your life is just a great recipe for wonderful changes. And if you're going to do that, I can't imaging a better group to do it with than Jamie, her wonderful teachers, and other members of the TGY community. Getting to know so many awesome and inspiring people was the icing on top of an already delicious (chocolate) cake.
Teacher Training was revelatory!
Aside from the life-long friendships forged, the most valuable aspect of TGY TT was the deepening of my own practice as well as shining a light on the depth, breadth, and history of yoga.
